Climate Officer
Use your analytical skills to help implement a clean air strategy. As Climate Officer you’ll support the council’s ambition for net zero carbon emissions. It’s an opportunity to work creatively with stakeholders to magnify work on climate action.

What you’ll do
You’ll engage a wide range of stakeholders in your local council’s work on tackling the climate emergency. A key part of your role is raising awareness and championing change.
A typical day might include:
- Working on the development of a climate action plan in line with council strategy.
- Writing a report on renewable energy, sustainable transport or waste reduction.
- Organising and running a workshop or community event that promotes local eco initiatives.
- Promoting toolkits and resources to support action on climate change to a range of stakeholders.
- Producing case studies and bids for awards that showcase the council’s work.
- Monitoring and assessing the impact of climate strategy to improve engagement.

Ideally you’ll have:
- A degree education with significant experience in communications and engagement around climate change and environmental issues.
- Ability to develop an engagement and outreach strategy.
- Working knowledge of a range of areas of climate action.
- Experience organising events and webinars.
- Excellent communication, copywriting and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel etc.).

Plymouth City Councils Bereavement Service has an exciting opportunity for a Crematorium Technician to join us at Plymouth Crematorium at The Park. The post holder will act as a member of a small team and contribute to the delivery of cremations, front of house duties, attending scatterings, burials and other linked services.
